Dementia Care Conference

This conference will provide updates and evaluation/treatment toolkits designed to facilitate interdisciplinary evidence-based best practices regarding dementia, Alzheimer's, and end-of-life care.

This conference is intended for physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, mental health providers, social workers, family care givers, and individuals involved in dementia education and patient care.

At the conclusion of this conference, the participant should be better able to:
  • Discuss the spectrum of Alzheimer’s research from basic science to clinical trials as well as social and behavioral investigations
  • Analyze diagnostic methods and criteria for detection of Alzheimer’s disease and a-typical dementias
  • Explore a range of clinical care models for persons with dementia and their families, including caregiving tools, safety protocols, management of family dynamics, and partnerships with physicians
  • Access the continuum of home and community based service options for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias and their caregivers
