The purpose of the Community Advisory Committee is to provide advice into the Center activities, aiding in the overall development and infrastructure of the Center. Members of the Community Advisory Council will consist of community members, community providers, and interdisciplinary faculty affiliates.
Goals
- Provide input on center activities specifically for community based participatory research (CBPR) with a focus on reducing population health disparities in chronic conditions.
- Identify initiatives and strategies that will engage Patient, Family and Community in Center activities for the purpose of building capacity.
- Develop a prototype on how to form, orient and educate a community advisory board for Community-Based Participatory Research.
- Support outreach and training activities for community engaged research.
