Postdoctoral Nursing Program

 CNS Post-Doc

UNMC College of Nursing is seeking PhD graduates with a research focus in the self-management or prevention of chronic illness. Postdoctoral Research Associates are paired with senior nursing mentors to guide them in grant writing, obtaining funding, and carrying out interdisciplinary research in preparation for research-intensive faculty positions at UNMC.

The College of Nursing & the Center for Patient, Family and Community Engagement in Chronic Care Management (CENTRIC) provides a research infrastructure for Postdoctoral Research Associates to be involved with interdisciplinary team science projects for development of their program of research.

The purpose of the 2-year in-person post-doctoral fellowship is to prepare nurse scientists for successful careers in research. The focus of the UNMC College of Nursing is on issues pertaining to prevention and self-management of chronic illnesses that impact individuals and families across the lifespan. This emphasis is congruent with the rapidly increasing population of persons affected by chronic illness and associated healthcare costs in the U.S. We strive to prepare nurse scientists whose research contributions will help mitigate chronic illness. Post-doctoral associates are expected to relocate to Omaha, NE (no remote post-doc options). The candidate cannot be a degree-seeking student at UNMC or another institution  simultaneously while pursuing a post-doc position.
