The purpose of the Scientific Advancement (SA) Committee is to create, prioritize and seek funding for and disseminate Funding Opportunities Announcements (FOA) for interdisciplinary pilot research proposals focused on patient engagement in chronic care management. This committee is also responsible for providing scientific review for proposals and facilitation of collaboration among center scientists.
Functions
- Disseminate FOA and review with a focus on chronic care self-management
- Set direction for FOA based on current research priorities {e.g. technology, designs [efficacy to implementation (E2I)]} and calls (local, regional, national).
- Facilitate collaborations among Center scientists with common research interests to secure funding
- Collaborate with Professional Development committee to support inter-disciplinary Research Interest Group
