Dr. Yiannis Chatzizisis
I was trained in advanced non-invasive cardiovascular imaging and in interventional cardiology at the Brigham and Womens Hospital. My research is supported by the NIH, industry and philanthropy. I have authored more than 150 manuscripts published in Circulation, JACC, ATVB, Cardiovascular Research and Atherosclerosis among other journals and received over 6,800 citations with an H-index of 39. I am the Associate Editor for Atherosclerosis and Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and reviewer for JACC, JACC Cardiovascular Imaging, JACC Cardiovascular Interventions, Circulation, Circulation Research, Circulation Cardiovascular Imaging, and Circulation Cardiovascular Interventions among other journals.
I received more than 40 international and national awards, including the Young Investigators Award by European Society of Cardiology, the Young Investigators Award by European Atherosclerosis Society, the Merit Award for Young Investigators by American Heart Association and the Academy of Athens Award. My other professional designation includes, Fellow of American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association and European Society of Cardiology, Member of the Board of Directors of the European Bifurcation Club and the Founding Member of the SCAI Bifurcation Club.
Current Research Interest:
Complex coronary interventions with emphasis on bifurcations, invasive imaging (IVUS, OCT), advanced non-invasive cardiovascular imaging (MRI, CT), mechanobiology of atherosclerosis and stent restenosis/thrombosis, micro-and meso-scale cardiovascular simulations, and computational stent simulations.
