After-hours emergency services are provided seven days a week, 365 days a year, through the emergency rooms at both Children\u2019s Nebraska and Nebraska Medicine.\n<\/p>\n\t\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"panel split-column\">\n\t<div class=\"panel__container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"panel__main\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2>Comprehensive and Specialized Services<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"grid grid--50\">\n\t\t\t\t\n<div>\n\t\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Early childhood cavities and periodontal needs, specific health care needs, significant underlying medical histories and orofacial injuries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oral health consultations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sedation for mildly anxious and fearful children.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Infant oral health exams.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Early intervention to address dental growth and developmental problems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preventive services such as sealants, fluoride varnish applications and oral hygiene instruction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<div>\n\t\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Contemporary restorative care options.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Treatment for patients with cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial anomalies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Treatment for oral habits that negatively affect proper growth and alignment of teeth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consultation with other medical specialties at UNMC and Children\u2019s Nebraska.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n\n\n<p>You are in good hands with experts trained in how anesthesia, medications and surgery can affect pediatric patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For patients with complex dental needs, the Pediatric Dentistry Clinic provides services under general anesthesia in the operating room at both Children\u2019s Nebraska and the University of Nebraska Medical Center. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The faculty and residents of the Pediatric Dentistry Clinic perform over 450 surgical cases a year, often in conjunction with other surgical services in order to better coordinate care and minimize costs to families. Our team provides comprehensive oral health care evaluations and referrals for complex dental and craniofacial conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dental Emergencies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pediatric Dentistry Clinic is open for urgent care appointments during regular clinic hours. Trained staff are available to consult and determine the level of urgency, taking the most severe or significant first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toothaches with swelling and\/or bleeding, as well as physical trauma to the teeth and\/or face, are considered dental emergencies. Any other condition or situation (e.g. minor toothache, broken or lost fillings) is not considered an emergency and requires a regularly scheduled appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After-hours emergency services are provided seven days a week, 365 days a year, through the emergency rooms at both Children\u2019s Nebraska and the University of Nebraska Medical Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fees <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We offer reduced fees compared to regional dental fees.
