STUDENT: So we're using our hand pieces here. It's just a Simodont. So the handle looks like a hand piece but not the tip of it. But we are able to see on the screen the actual tip of the hand piece. The Simodont simulates us actually touching the tooth. So if I touch a tooth, it resists a little bit. So it feels like I'm actually touching the tooth. So we look through the screen and are able to use our foot pedal and everything, simulating what it actually is like in clinic. And then we use our handpiece to remove. We get to choose our own burrs, what burrs we want to use like we would in a real clinic. They are exciting. It's so different, but also not because it's simulating what we are doing in practice. So it's a different way to be able to do what we're doing on the mannequin head. So having the opportunity to be able to practice how we hold an instrument, how we hold the mirror, how to use the mirror to use indirect vision and look at the tooth and different angles and everything. It's fun. Dr. Vader gave us a challenge to try to get as accurate scores as we could on these two last challenges. So whoever got the highest score in both of those challenges won the tournament. And then we were given a little extra credit if we-- to just to give us motivation to try to win. It was a fun, engaging way to practice our hand skills because obviously we're not in patients mouths yet, but it's good to have all of this different types of practice to develop those hand skills and get better at what we're doing. We're going to have to perfect these and it takes time. So having as much practice as possible and doing something like this is fun and different. The technology we have here is impressive. The amount of opportunities we have to practice our hand skills is something that I don't think we appreciate now, but will appreciate for sure when we get into clinic. So having the Simodont and then our mannequin heads and the amount of resources we have just in this one room is unbelievable. And we can come in-- we have access to it 24 hours a day. Whenever we want to come in and work on things, we can do that. So I feel very lucky.
