CBCT imaging, interpretation, and applications in the dental practice

Course Description:

This course will provide the basic background information on CBCT and address the benefit of 3D imaging in the dental practice.

 In the accompanying interactive hands-on course, the board-certified oral and maxillofacial radiologist will guide the participants through a collection of interesting cbct cases step-by-step, allowing the doctors to apply the concept immediately to his/her dental practice.

Course Objectives:

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the basic imaging concept
  • Describe CBCT technology
  • Identify the relationship among field-of-view, dose, and image resolution
  • Justify the use of CBCT
  • Explain radiation exposure
  • Recognize artifacts
