Radiology for Dental Auxiliary
Course Description:
This course complies with the statutes, rules and regulations approved by the NE State Board of Dental Examiners. The first part of the lecture will take place via Zoom on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The second part of the lecture is a recording and demos which will be sent to you as a link upon registration. This recording is 4 hours long and MUST be viewed prior to your lab day. The final part of this course is the lab and test. This will take place in person at the College of Dentistry on your designated lab day that you will select when you register. Course Objectives:
Following this course, the participants will be able to:
- Identify common radiographic errors and how to correct them
- Identify the specific teeth and other structures that should be recorded in each acceptable periapical and bitewing radiograph
- Identify basic anatomic landmarks for identifying radiographs
- Perform intraoral and extraoral radiographic technique on manikins
- Evaluate diagnostic quality of intraoral radiographs
Method of Teaching: Lecture/discussion, manikin clinical participation
