Dr. Kristie Hayes serves as the Director of Diversity for the Department of Dermatology and is involved nationally, along with Dr. Wysong, in these efforts. The department has a DEI Committee, led by Dr. Hayes and Karle Olnes as the administrative partner, made up of faculty, residents, students, and staff that meets monthly. The department is involved locally and nationally in diversity efforts and selects program leaders who have demonstrated awareness and willingness to engage in equity and inclusion. Our faculty are also involved in national dermatology diversity mentorship and leadership programs through the Women's Dermatologic Society, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Student National Medical Association (SNMA), the Association of Professors of Dermatology (APD), and others.
