DEBBIE PORTER: Hello. My name is Debbie Porter. I am a middle school teacher at Palm Harbor Middle School in Palm Harbor, Florida. This year, we started an academy of health science program to feed into our local medical academy at Palm Harbor University High School. As a result of that, and as a result of the new program, I did not have resources. So I had to create and find and search. I was put into contact with uBEATS by a consortium member who strongly suggested I check out this program. My students enjoy the videos. They think they're very simple, yet the information is challenging. The voices on the videos change. They cannot move forward on the video until they get the answer correct, which I like. And then there is a small 10-question quiz at the end of each module. I have found it very easy to use, very user-friendly. I think it's a great program. And my students enjoy using it. Thank you. JOANNA LISCOMBE: Hello, everyone. My name is Joanna Liscombe. I at Myrtle Beach High school here in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I have used the uBEATS program in my class. This is the third semester that I've done so. And my students absolutely love it. It is different, it's engaging, and it allows the students to look at all of the things that they're able to within a certain career choice. It's something that's very interactive. It allows them to pick and choose which careers that they want to do, whether it's careers in health or careers in dentistry. And it really sparks and piques the interest of those that don't really know what they want to do. I have nothing but good things to say about uBEATS. And I look forward to continuing to use them in time to come. REGINA DAVENPORT: Hi, my name is Regina Davenport. I am a health science teacher at Dobyns-Bennett High School in Kingsport, Tennessee. I'm going to talk to you just a little bit about my experience with uBEATS. I teach a pharmacy tech class. And there is a pharmacology unit that's actually was launched already. So I'm really excited about that because that's what I teach next semester. So that's going to be really cool to be able to sit down ... When my students come in January, I'm going to start out using uBEATS with them and let them go through those modules. And that'll be a good way to introduce pharmacology and all the different avenues that go along with it before we really start diving into our core curriculum. I'm excited about, like I say, the new career modules that's coming out. That will be great for a beginner class, as well as I'm real excited about the pharmacy one that I had already told you about. But contact uBEATS. You won't be sorry. And I'm excited that the consortium is actually promoting this. I think it's a great thing. And they have a way of being able to contact a lot of teachers and get this word out. So enjoy. MEGAN WESSLUND: Hi. I'm Megan Wesslund from Omaha Northwest High School in Omaha, Nebraska. I teach the public health pathway here. And I use uBEATS in the classroom to build background knowledge for students and to enhance curriculum every day.
