Since its inception in 2013, the Funded Awards Program by UNMC Interactive E-Learning has become an integral part of the university’s strategic implementation of more interactive curricula utilizing technology to better fit the learning style of millennial students. By engaging learners through these interactive modules, we aim to increase their retention and higher order thinking, ideally leading to improved patient care.
In order to participate in the program, faculty and student teams must go through a rigorous application process. While the majority of participants every year are new to the Funded Awards Program, there has been a consistent increase in the number of returning faculty and students — demonstrating those who do participate recognize the value it brings to the UNMC curriculum and the students’ learning experience.
