UNMC E-Learning Lab Resources

The E-Learning Lab was created to provide e-learning developers with the tools they need to create their projects. There is no cost to use the lab or check out equipment.

  E-Learning has moved to our permanent home in the library!

Stop by our updated space on the 6th floor of the McGoogan Library, Room 6040.

Open Daily  

The E-Learning Lab is permanently located in the newly renovated McGoogan Health Sciences Library, Room 6040. Take a right when you get off the elevators on the sixth floor.

The E-Learning Lab is staffed from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Outside of staffed hours, the Lab is available during normal McGoogan Health Sciences Library hours; your ID badge is required to gain entrance to the Lab. In-person visits and consultations are available by appointment only. Email us to set up an appointment.

Experienced Staff  

The Director of E-Learning, Peggy Moore, MSEd, collaborates with faculty, staff, and students on best practices and sound instructional design.

April Elker, the E-Learning Program Coordinator, connects the UNMC community with the information they need for their e-learning projects.

Steph Langel, MA, Instructional Designer, and Tuggen Even, MSEd, Instructional Technologist, consult with faculty, students, and staff regarding educational technologies and instructional design.

The lab is also staffed with lab assistants on weekdays to provide guidance on software and equipment checkout.

On-Site Equipment  

The E-Learning Lab recently updated our on-site equipment and software to ensure faculty have easy access for multimedia development.

To help you create your e-learning materials, the studio is fully equipped with:

  • PC and Mac computers
  • 22' Wacom Cintiq HD graphic pad tablets
  • Audio recording room for high-quality audio production

Available software includes:

  • Articulate Storyline 3
  • Camtasia
  • Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Microsoft Office

If you need to record a video, UNMC's EZStudio is also available. Located in McGoogan Health Sciences Library, Room 6030, the EZStudio is a simplified video recording setup that allows users to create polished videos with a click of a button. The EZStudio includes ceiling-mounted lights, a video camera, microphone, presentation monitor, green screen, and a lightboard. Learn more about the EZStudio.

Equipment for Checkout  

You can check out equipment and use it at the time and place convenient for you — all for free! Equipment can be checked out for up to seven days. This includes:

  • PC laptops with Articulate Storyline 3
  • Portable Wacom Cintiq graphic pad tablets
  • iPads
  • Camcorders, USB and wireless microphones
  • Digital SLR camera
  • 360 digital camera
  • Professional lights for taking pictures or videos
  • Tripods
  • Tablet Swivl device
  • Pop-up green screen kit

You will soon be able to reserve E-Learning equipment through UNMC's online room scheduling website. The equipment can then be picked up in the E-Learning Lab in the McGoogan Health Sciences Library, Room 6040. Email us for more information.
