- Hometown:
Omaha, NE - College attended and major:
University of Iowa, Psychology - Medical school:
University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Medicine - Why UNMC:
UNMC’s emergency department is a supportive environment. The hospital staff, attendings, and fellow residents support each other and genuinely love teaching and mentoring each other. The faculty are personable and always willing to give great advice. My co-residents are from all over the United States and have different interests, and we embrace each other’s differences and teach and learn from each other. Being at an academic center, there are resources and specialists who help us further our education and training, but we also have rural rotations that allow us to have the experience of working in areas without specialists. UNMC has been preparing for pandemics for a long time and cared for Ebola and COVID-19 patients coming from abroad. During the pandemic, watching how UNMC responded was truly inspiring. - Interests/Hobbies:
Global and public health, dancing, hiking, traveling, painting, and rollerblading
