Assistant Professor

Jayme Dowdall, MD joined UNMC/Nebraska Medicine as a practicing laryngologist in June 2018. Dr. Dowdall received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Dowdall completed her residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. During residency, she received the Holt Leadership Award from the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. She completed her clinical fellowship in Laryngology in 2012 at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. While practicing in Boston at MEEI and Brigham and Women's Hospital, she was also a research fellow at the Center for Regenerative Medicine with Dr. Jayaraj Rajagopal at Massachusetts General Hospital until 2015.  Dr. Dowdall’s research interests in laryngology come from her love of singing and wish to care for the whole patient. Her research focuses on:

• Performing arts medicine
• Care for the professional vocalist
• Sex differences in the presentation and treatment of diseases in the unified airway
• Innovating patient-centered care delivery pathways.

In her free time, Dr. Dowdall enjoys spending time with her son, singing, and trying new things around Omaha.
