Message from Fellowship Program Director

Ronald R. Krueger, MD

The primary aim of the Glaucoma/Anterior Segment Fellowship Program at UNMC’s Truhlsen Eye Institute is to provide top-level ophthalmic clinical and surgical training to fellow physicians pursuing a career in Ophthalmology.  The  Ophthalmology faculty team is focused on inspiring the fellow to seek and provide the highest levels of quality in patient care and surgical outcomes. We also provide an array of educational and research support to those who are interested in pursuing a career as an academician, including basic science, translational, and clinical research opportunities in collaboration with our Vision Science Research team.

During the fellowship training at UNMC, the fellow will work closely with our board certified ophthalmologists to manage routine and complex tertiary level cases within the state-of-the-art facilities at TEI. The fellow will be trained in the clinical evaluation of patients, interpretation of specialized ancillary testing, diagnosis, and medical and surgical management of all types of ophthalmic pathology with the goal of producing local, regional, national, and international leaders in ophthalmology.

We invite you to apply to our fellowship training program and hope to foster your educational and career endeavors in Ophthalmology.
