Location: 3902 Leavenworth Street (on the north side of Leavenworth St.).

Cost: $20 million.

Size: A 54,536 square foot building housing clinical and research services. The Fritch Surgery Center has been added in the Lauritzen Outpatient Center, connected by a skywalk to the Truhlsen Eye Institute.

Building features: Outpatient eye care, a children’s eye care center, clinical research center and regional diagnostic center. 

Building’s namesake: Stanley M. Truhlsen, M.D., emeritus professor and former chairman of UNMC’s Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Dr. Truhlsen is nationally recognized in the field of ophthalmology.
