Join UNMC Faculty Development for a powerful new series designed to transform how you view the world and inspire actionable change. The REframe Series will offer interactive workshops and development opportunities presented by campus and national experts in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The series is supported by the Offices of Inclusion and Equity. 

This series will provide you with the tools you need to better collaborate, accelerate change and personalize the learning environment for growth. Discover how you can contribute to sustained organizational change for a more equitable future in health science education, no matter where you are in your own learning journey.

The Bias Checklist: A 2-Part Inclusive Pedagogy Workshop (Part 1)

Join us for an interactive 2-Part Inclusive Pedagogy Workshop to meaningfully improve your curricula and learning environments.

In part 1 of this session, you will learn about the impact of bias in healthcare education content and identify the challenges to preventing bias from reaching learners. You will then have the opportunity to examine a portion of your own content for potential biases using the checklist developed by guest speaker Amy Caruso Brown, MD

The Power of Privilege: How Our Social Identities Shape the World We See

Join us for a fast-paced workshop designed to provide participants with an opportunity to understand the intricacies of privilege and explore how we enjoy privileges based on our social identity groups. During this session led by trained UNMC campus experts, you will critically examine your own complex identities in a safe space while engaging in thoughtful dialogue.

Strategies to Diversify Your Faculty Search

Want to create a more diverse candidate pool? During this session led by Autumn Reed, PhD, you'll discover tangible measures that foster diversity and inclusion throughout the life-cycle of a faculty search. You'll learn to identify field and search specific strategies that disrupt status-quo faculty recruitment processes and practices.

Equity-Minded Faculty Workloads by Design

The unequal distribution of faculty workload is one of the most important, yet least talked about, inequities that shape the experiences of faculty members within colleges and universities. In this session, led by KerryAnn O'Meara, PhD, discover how workload inequities emerge in "discretionary spaces," and the evidence-based policies and practices departments have used to identify inequalities, assess faculty and university needs, and re-design workload with equity in mind.
