Team Physician\Event Coverage\Athletic Training Room:

Swim TrialsThe fellow will serve at the Team Physicians for Papillion LaVista and Papillion LaVista South High Schools.  He/she will attend every home football game. Additionally, the fellow will lead medical coverage for wrestling tournaments hosted by the high schools. The Nebraska Medicine Sports Medicine program provides medical coverage for several NSAA State Championships throughout the year. The fellow will assist in these mass participation events. The fellow will attend home matches for the Union Omaha Soccer Club and the Omaha Lancers Hockey Club as part of the medical team.  He/she will have the opportunity to assist with team care of NCAA Division 1 athletes.  Finally, the fellow will assist with Olympic-level competitions that regularly come through Omaha.

Weekly in-season training room will occur for Papillion LaVista High School, Papillion LaVista South High School, Creighton University, Union Omaha Soccer Club, and Omaha Lancers Hockey Club.

Primary Specialty Clinic:

The fellow will complete a weekly clinic/shift in the area of their primary training. The location of this experience will be dependent upon the fellow’s primary specialty.

Ultrasound Training:

The fellow will learn ultrasound through a longitudinal comprehensive curriculum in our program. There are ultrasounds available at all sports clinics. Musculoskeletal ultrasound is used in the clinic for diagnostic purposes and ultrasound guided procedures and injections. The fellow will receive training from the faculty and have opportunities to administer ultrasound guided injections on their patients with direct supervision.
