The Family Medicine Residency Program of the University of Nebraska Medical Center offers you a unique combination of training, facilities, people, places to meet the needs of tomorrow’s family practitioners.
The importance of family medicine is well recognized in a state as geographically and socially diverse as Nebraska. Therefore, this Family Medicine Residency Program receives strong support from Nebraska’s legislature, communities, and hospitals.
Our innovative, two-stage program prepares residents to provide family medicine health care in rural, suburban, and urban settings. During the first year, you train at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
During the second and third years, residents focus on the delivery of family health care at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Nebraska, which comprises of a 166-bed acute care facility, and five different medical offices in the area.
