North Platte, the county seat of Lincoln County, is located in west-central Nebraska at the confluence of the North Platte and South Platte Rivers on Interstate 80. It is only about a three hour drive to Denver and the Rocky Mountains. Its economic infra-structure is diverse. Among its business activities are transportation services, construction, tourism, ranching and farming. North Platte also serves as an educational and regional health center.

North Platte public schools provide a strong academic program with a broad range of course offerings from basic education to college prep and advanced placement. Mid-Plains Community College Area provides a comprehensive two-year program.
