During your first year, you will train at three ambulatory clinics located throughout the Omaha area and spend time at area hospitals like the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Methodist Hospital, and Ehrling Bergquist Hospital at Offutt Air Force Base.

Your second and third years of the program will be based in North Platte, Nebraska. Residents are involved in the care of patients who are rooted deep in the traditions of middle America. You will participate in weekly family practice Grand Rounds and other didactic teaching sessions through distance learning technology and interactive video. You will also have an opportunity to return to the University of Nebraska Medical Center several times a year for departmental workshops.

Your rotations at Great Plains Health will include: obstetrics/gynecology, surgery, family practice, neurology, pediatrics, orthopedics, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, urology, cardiology, behavioral medicine, occupational medicine, pulmonology critical care, four months of elective time, and two months of rural practice. Hands-on learning includes an on-call schedule every seventh night.
