International Student Orientation is MANDATORY
Fall 2021 New Student Orientation
Thursday, August 12, 2021 - Friday, August 13, 2021
Additional information for new international students will be forthcoming; check back here for updates.
Please review the Successful Transition: A guidebook for international students, staff, faculty, and visitors section entitled "After You Arrive" for housing information. Arrive early to procure housing and settle into your new environment, both of which will contribute to your academic success. To arrive in the middle of August can create unnecessary challenges and distractions those first days of the semester. It can be difficult to find living accommodations near the UNMC campus. Please also communicate travel plans with your student services advisor or admissions coordinator. Knowing your travel plans allows schedule coordination among the student groups.
Life in Omaha Videos
In December 2020, the Office of Global Engagement (OGE) held virtual information sessions for both current and incoming international students. Topics presented included public transportation and driving a car, U.S. phone plans, how to prepare and dress for winter in Omaha, and tips on finding housing near campus. Both sessions included ample time for Q&A. The sessions were recorded and are posted below.
