Fall 2021 Guidance for Entry into the US

Faculty, staff, and students traveling from the following countries face restrictions on entry into the United States:

Current students traveling from these countries with a valid F-1 visa may enter the United States no earlier than 30 days prior to the start of the semester.

New students who currently do not have an F-1 visa will need to apply for and receive a visa. These students will be able to enter the United States no earlier than 30 days prior to August 1, 2021.

Faculty and staff that hold a valid H1B, J, or another nonimmigrant visa will need to contact their nearest U.S. embassy or consulate to apply for and receive a National Interest Exception (NIE) before traveling to the United States.

Please note that U.S. embassies and consulates in these areas may be closed or have limited consular services. Please check the U.S. State Department website for current visa processing times and services.

For questions, please contact Dan Teet (students) or Steven Daubendiek (faculty and staff).
