There’s nothing more valuable when deciding a career path than talking to someone who has been through the experience before — a person who can provide insights and guidance regarding the challenges that may lie ahead. While an advisor or supervisor can play a pivotal role in this, it’s often beneficial to have alumni or other professionals as mentors, as well. They bring a unique perspective and additional knowledge that can ensure students have the right support they need when pursuing career goals.
The Graduate Studies mentoring program’s intent is to help match our graduate students with UNMC alumni (or other professionals) who share the same career interests — we understand how difficult it can be to find a mentor on your own.
