Susan Riley Keyes Fellow, AUTM Foundation Technology Transfer Career Training Program (2019-2021)

Each year, the Susan Riley Keyes Memorial Fund names 2-3 Fellows, selected from among PhD candidates, postdoctoral fellows, and early career professionals, to support their participation in the AUTM (Association of University Technology Managers) Foundation Technology Transfer Career Training Program. This program is the cornerstone of the AUTMs mission to foster the success of the tech transfer profession, offering trainees and early career professionals unique resources and opportunities that will engage and encourage them to become the future leaders of the industry. AJ Crawford has been named a Susan Riley Keyes Fellow for the two-year program that pairs each Fellow with an experienced technology transfer mentor who offers in-depth, first-hand knowledge of the complexities of the profession. Fellows also follow a core syllabus of educational webinars covering such topics as the fundamentals of technology transfer, invention disclosures from cradle to licensing, basic patenting, marketing, and negotiation, and attend the AUTM Essentials of Academic Technology Transfer course as well as 2 annual meetings of the organization. AJ completed her PhD degree under the mentorship of Michael A. (Tony) Hollingsworth, PhD, Professor in the Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer & Allied Diseases and Associate Director for Basic Research in the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, receiving the PhD degree in August 2021.
