2014 Young Investigator Award, presented by the Society for Free Radical Biology & Medicine

The Society for Free Radical Biology & Medicine (SFRBM) presents Young Investigator Awards to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows based on the scientific merit of the young investigator’s abstract submitted to the annual meeting and for the quality of presentation given by the young investigator at the meeting.  Urmi Basu received a Young Investigator Award for her oral presentation entitled “Overexpression of redox-sensitive calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII) in central neurons augments angiotensin II-induced hypertension” at the 2014 SFRBM Annual Meeting held in Seattle, WA.  Urmi completed her dissertation research under the mentorship of Matthew C. Zimmerman, PhD, receiving the PhD degree in August 2015.
