- C-STARS
  C-STARS, the Center for Sustainment of Trauma Readiness Skills- Omaha is a collaboration between UNMC, Nebraska Medicine, and the Air Force Research Laboratory’s School of Aerospace Medicine. C-STARS Omaha works closely with UNMC’s Global Center for Health Security, iEXCEL, and the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit to take advantage of the medical center’s capabilities and expertise in biopreparedness training and research.

Project Manager I

Kelom Konou

Kelom "Keke" Konou is a Project Manager at the UNMC Global Center for Health Security, where she is on the Region 7 Disaster Health Response Ecosystem (R7DHRE) initiative. Her line of effort is Health System Expansion enabled by Local/Regional Adaptive Planning and Health Equity.

Keke joined our campus by starting with Nebraska Medicine and grew her talents throughout different departments. As an intern at the office of healthcare ethics, Keke supported the crisis standards of care task force during initial COVID-19 planning and preparedness. Prior to joining UNMC, she served as the Chemical Hygiene Safety Officer at a laboratory and led safety and preparedness 29 CFR 1910 compliance projects.

She is actively engaged in leading and supporting diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and their committees to meet strategic goals that address community outreach, healthcare access, equity, and ethics at Nebraska Medicine and UNMC.
