Lead trainer for federal disaster and public health service teams

The Global Center for Health Security was selected by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services in 2018 to serve as the lead training institution for the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) National Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) and U.S. Public Health Service team members. Teams include physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, paramedics, and respiratory therapists who respond to health disasters within the U.S. and its territories.

NDMS training sessions occur on the UNMC campus within the Williams Science Hall building, and will be ongoing through September 2019.
