2 Legionnaires’ disease cases linked to Las Vegas Strip hotel

8 News Now The Southern Nevada Health District announced on Tuesday that two cases of Legionnaires’ disease were associated with stays at the Wynn Las Vegas, and guests who have stayed at the resort recently are urged to complete a health survey.

According to a release from the district, both cases are associated with travel. One person stayed at the hotel casino in September 2025, while the other stayed in February 2026. The release said both people have since recovered from the disease.

After learning of the cases, the Health District conducted environmental sampling at the facility, and multiple samples tested positive for Legionella, the bacteria that can cause Legionnaires’ The Wynn then initiated immediate and comprehensive water system remediation measures, and the most recent samples showed no detectable levels of the bacteria in the affected areas. The property is also doing follow-up testing for the disease.
