Norbert Schneeweiss, a biologist who heads the Rinluch Species Competence Centre at the Brandenburg Environmental Agency, said Wednesday that \u201cwell over\u201d 1,000 dead cranes have been found \u201cin a short period of time&#8221; at a major resting place in Linum, Germany. \u201cWe have been working with many volunteers in managing this bird migration gathering place for 25 years and have never experienced anything like this,\u201d Schneeweiss added.
