The figures show a \u201chuge global presence,\u201d Chief Executive Officer&nbsp;Sherman Miller&nbsp;said on a call with analysts on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very difficult to estimate the magnitude, but all the indicators of the problem are still there,\u201d Miller said. \u201cWe\u2019re still on pins and needles watching this virus.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>US consumer egg prices hit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-04-10\/eggs-hit-record-as-retailers-keep-prices-high-on-supply-fears\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"all-time highs, opens in a new window\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">all-time highs<\/a>&nbsp;last year as affected poultry flocks were culled to prevent the disease\u2019s spread. The current outbreak that began in 2022 has affected more than 185 million birds in the US, including those in over 900 commercial operations, according to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aphis.usda.gov\/livestock-poultry-disease\/avian\/avian-influenza\/hpai-detections\/commercial-backyard-flocks\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"US Department of Agriculture, opens in a new window\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">US Department of Agriculture<\/a>.
