The Food and Drug Administration reversed its decision on Moderna\u2019s flu vaccine and has agreed to review it for possible approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just last week, Moderna announced that the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/02\/10\/health\/fda-moderna-mrna-flu-vaccine.html\">agency had rejected its application<\/a>&nbsp;for review of a new flu vaccine. The F.D.A. said the company\u2019s research design had been flawed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But in subsequent discussions, the agency had relented and agreed to begin a review,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessnewswire.com\/newsroom\/en\/healthcare-and-pharmaceutical\/moderna-announces-the-u.s.-food-and-drug-administration-will-initiate-1138398\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"the company said, opens in a new window\">the company said<\/a>&nbsp;on Wednesday. As part of the revised approach, Moderna said that it had agreed to split up its application for the flu vaccine based on age. It plans to seek standard approval for people 50 to 64 years old, and accelerated approval for those 65 and older.
