A study\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/journals\/microbiology\/articles\/10.3389\/fmicb.2025.1713017\/full\">published<\/a>\u00a0Tuesday in the journal Frontiers in Microbiology describes\u00a0<em>Psychrobacter<\/em>\u00a0SC65A.3, a bacterial strain discovered frozen inside 5,000-year-old layers of cave ice in Romania.
