Experiments show that visceral fat \u2013 fat around the liver, intestines, and other organs, considered a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure \u2013 contributes more to severe\u00a0COVID-19\u00a0than subcutaneous fat (under the skin, as in \u201clove handles\u201d).
