But pay attention, because there\u2019s something new about XBB.1.5, also known as Kraken, the latest\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/omicron\/\">Omicron<\/a>\u00a0subvariant that\u2019s quickly becoming the dominant form of SARS-CoV-2 across much of the world. XBB.1.5 evolved after a couple of\u00a0<em>big<\/em>\u00a0genetic twists and turns.\u00a0 The virus still has the potential to surprise us.
