The first case of avian flu in Brazil was registered on 15 May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The discovery of the disease in wild birds in Paran\u00e1 \u2013 one was in the city of Pontal do Paran\u00e1 and the other in Antonina municipality \u2013 highlights another warning sign as the state is the country\u2019s largest producer and exporter of chicken meat. In 2022, the state accounted for 35.54% of Brazilian production, according to data from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/abpa-br.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ABPA (Brazilian Association of Animal Protein)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So far, only wild birds have been affected, and no cases of the disease have been registered in poultry from commercial production farms or in subsistence farming, according to the Ministry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On 22 May, the Ministry of Agriculture declared a zoosanitary emergency and measures to prevent the disease from reaching commercial herds were reinforced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On 7 June, the Federal Government published a provisional measure opening an extraordinary credit of R$200 million for actions to be taken by the ministry to combat highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As there are no cases in commercial herds, Brazil remains free of avian influenza before the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.woah.org\/en\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\">World Organization for Animal Health (WHOA)<\/a>, and there are no restrictions on Brazilian chicken meat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.poultryworld.net\/health-nutrition\/health\/brazil-confirms-avian-influenza-in-main-poultry-producing-state\/\">Continue reading<\/a><\/p>\n<a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"\/secure-location.php\" style=\"display: none;\" title=\"MfibQpqt kur PoZXET p\">MfibQpqt kur PoZXET p<\/a><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Poultry World According to Brazil\u2019s Official Veterinary Service, 2 new outbreaks have been confirmed in the country, this time in the state of Paran\u00e1, a state that accounts for 35% of Brazil\u2019s poultry production.
