This research, which used multiple state-of the-art technologies, was enabled by existing expertise and infrastructure through CHRI. It was published in the\u00a0<em>Journal of Translational Medicine<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/youtu.be\/jUqHuVG321E\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, approximately 10\u201320% of people with a confirmed case of COVID-19 will get long COVID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Those patients experience a wide variety of symptoms, which may include fatigue, brain fog, and difficulty breathing,&#8221; said Dr. Douglas Fraser, professor in the department of pediatrics at Schulich School of Medicine &amp; Dentistry and physician at London Health Sciences Center (LHSC). &#8220;Their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/medicalxpress.com\/tags\/quality+of+life\/\">quality of life<\/a>\u00a0can be significantly altered, so anything that we can do to learn about this disorder and identify potential treatment targets is very important.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Called &#8220;the plasma proteome,&#8221; the proteins are found in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/medicalxpress.com\/tags\/blood+plasma\/\">blood plasma<\/a>&nbsp;and are released by cells that often play an important role in the body&#8217;s immune response to viruses.
