It said that revenues from mask sales and donations were no longer enough to support its operations. \u201cOver time, we\u2019ve seen reduced demand for masks,\u201d said Anne Miller, the executive director. \u201cIt appears that people prefer to risk getting sick rather than taking precautions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mask-C also said it would close at the end of the year. The company\u2019s fashionable products were once a hot commodity, worn by celebrities&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.prevention.com\/health\/a39205388\/celebrity-favorite-maskc-kn95-face-mask-on-sale\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">like Rihanna, Bella Hadid and Jennifer Lopez<\/a>. \u201cRegrettably, due to circumstances beyond our control, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors,\u201d it said in announcing the closure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the onset of the pandemic in early 2020, demand soared for protective masks.
