{"id":5990,"date":"2024-03-05T12:01:18","date_gmt":"2024-03-05T18:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/healthsecurity\/transmission\/?p=5990"},"modified":"2024-03-06T09:49:55","modified_gmt":"2024-03-06T15:49:55","slug":"man-receives-hundreds-of-covid-19-vaccines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/healthsecurity\/transmission\/2024\/03\/05\/man-receives-hundreds-of-covid-19-vaccines\/","title":{"rendered":"Man Receives Hundreds Of Covid-19 Vaccines"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/victoriaforster\/2024\/03\/05\/man-receives-hundreds-of-covid-19-vaccines\/?sh=519dbfc0e819\">Forbes<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scientists have studied the immune system of a man in Germany who claims to have received 217 Covid-19 vaccines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The researchers were concerned that the man&#8217;s immune system might have become exhausted with such frequent and numerous challenges with vaccines against the same virus, but actually found the opposite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their analysis published in the journal&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelancet.com\/journals\/laninf\/article\/PIIS1473-3099(24)00134-8\/fulltext\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Lancet Infectious Diseases<\/em><\/a>&nbsp;found that not only did the man, 62, have a fully functional immune system, there were indicators that his immunity against the virus that causes Covid-19 was better than people who had just received a normal number of vaccines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is official evidence of the man having 134 Covid-19 vaccines of eight different types including mRNA vaccines over a 9 month period, although the man claims the amount to be 217 in total over 29 months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is not known why he chose to have so many vaccines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Initially the public prosecutor in the City of Magdeburg where the man lived had opened a fraud investigation into the man but never ultimately filed charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scientists found the man through newspaper reports and approached him to see whether he would be happy to be studied.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Forbes Scientists have studied the immune system of a man in Germany who claims to have received 217 Covid-19 vaccines.
