None were hospitalized,\u201d according to the release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The State Public Health Laboratory tested samples from the workers, with its results indicating positive cases for all five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this month, the Coloradoan reported&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coloradoan.com\/story\/news\/2024\/07\/05\/colorado-dairy-farm-worker-contracts-case-of-bird-flu\/74309124007\/\">the first human case in the state<\/a>, which was connected to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coloradoan.com\/story\/news\/2024\/06\/18\/bird-flu-infecting-northeast-colorado-dairy-cows\/74124456007\/\">a multi-state outbreak of the virus in dairy cattle<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The state health department says it is safe to eat poultry products. \u201cThe proper handling and cooking of poultry, meat, and eggs kills bacteria and viruses, including avian flu viruses,&#8221; it said in its release.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Colorado News Four cases of avian flu have been confirmed in poultry workers at a farm in northeast Colorado, with an additional presumed case pending confirmation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
