In every case, the individual had been unvaccinated. Data show most of the cases have impacted those less than 20 years of age \u2013 nine of which were less than 10 years old. Only five cases have been recorded in adults 20 and up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first known case took place in&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.koin.com\/news\/health\/oha-warns-about-possible-exposures-after-2-confirmed-measles-cases-in-clackamas-county\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Clackamas County on June 11<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;when an unvaccinated adult began developing a rash, according to the OHA. A few days later, an unvaccinated child in the same household also developed symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since then, at least&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregon.gov\/oha\/PH\/DISEASESCONDITIONS\/DISEASESAZ\/Pages\/measles.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">two people have been hospitalized<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;due to infection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Measles was declared eradicated in the U.S. in 2000, but there have been occasional cases, including an outbreak of 28 reported cases in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.koin.com\/news\/oregon\/measles-outbreak-clackamas-marion-multnomah\/\">Continue reading<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KOIN News Oregon has recorded at least&nbsp;23 total cases&nbsp;of measles in three counties since June 2024, according to state health officials.
