Long Covid continues to evade a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/health\/health-news\/long-covid-differences-blood-test-study-finds-rcna116871\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">clear diagnostic test<\/a>, researchers reported in a study published Monday in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.acpjournals.org\/doi\/10.7326\/M24-0737\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Annals of Internal Medicine<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The findings are part of the National Institute of Health\u2019s RECOVER Initiative, a billion-dollar-plus effort launched in 2021 to research causes and treatments for the estimated&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/covid\/php\/long-covid\/index.html#:~:text=In%202022%2C%206.9%25%20of%20adults,ever%20reported%20experiencing%20Long%20COVID.&amp;text=While%20Long%20COVID%20can%20occur,risk%20of%20developing%20Long%20COVID.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">17 million Americans<\/a>&nbsp;with long Covid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monday\u2019s study used data from more than 10,000 patients at 83 clinical sites around the country. The researchers looked at a number of lab results from the patients, including routine blood counts; kidney and liver tests results; and markers of inflammation in the body.
