Meanwhile,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.medpagetoday.com\/infectiousdisease\/vaccines\/108434\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">childhood vaccine<\/a>\u00a0exemptions and growing vaccine hesitancy have led to renewed calls for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.medpagetoday.com\/opinion\/second-opinions\/110184\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">awareness and advocacy<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This spring, H5N1 caught the world&#8217;s attention with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.medpagetoday.com\/special-reports\/features\/109842\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unprecedented outbreaks in mamma<\/a>ls, including dairy cattle in the U.S. In April, public health officials announced the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.medpagetoday.com\/infectiousdisease\/generalinfectiousdisease\/109953\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">first known mammal-to-human case<\/a>\u00a0of H5N1 in a dairy farm worker in Texas.
