Then, I went online to see how many other people did, too. The news was grim: So far, less than\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/covidvaxview\/weekly-dashboard\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">5% of US adults<\/a>\u00a0have gotten the latest Covid vaccine. Analysts at Jefferies expect this year\u2019s Covid immunization rate will end up being even lower than last year, when just\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ama-assn.org\/delivering-care\/public-health\/updated-2024-2025-covid-19-vaccines-who-should-get-them-and-when\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">23%<\/a>\u00a0of Americans got the updated shot. The dismal vaccination rate isn\u2019t shocking. More than four years since the pandemic arrived, many people have vaccine fatigue and may not want to deal with the unpleasant side effects that can come with the shot. That\u2019s despite growing&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2024\/mar\/15\/long-covid-symptoms-cdc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">alarm<\/a>&nbsp;over the potential impact of developing long Covid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experts are particularly concerned by signs of apathy among the most vulnerable population.
