In addition to getting&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/health\/medical\/flu-vaccines-are-available-when-should-you-get-yours\/\">your yearly flu shot<\/a>, consider making sure you and your family are up to date on your&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/health\/medical\/there-are-3-new-covid-vaccines-but-the-way-you-pay-for-them-has-changed-what-to-know\/\">COVID vaccines<\/a>&nbsp;&#8212; the new&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/health\/medical\/what-to-know-about-novavax-the-other-covid-vaccine\/\">Novavax vaccine<\/a>&nbsp;may be a good option. And it&#8217;s helpful to have some test kits on hand in case you start to develop COVID symptoms. But before you rush out to buy at-home test kits, we have good news: the federal government has started sending them out for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/covidtests.gov\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">COVIDTests.gov<\/a>&nbsp;website, US households can once again order four free at-home COVID test kits.
