While some public health agencies are slowly rolling out<a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/news\/item\/15-05-2024-who-prequalifies-new-dengue-vaccine\">two licensed vaccines<\/a>, a few countries are also testing a novel intervention to battle these mosquitoes and the diseases they spread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Researchers at the nonprofit World Mosquito Program (WMP) have been releasing mosquitoes infected with a bacterium called&nbsp;<em>Wolbachia<\/em>&nbsp;as a way to control dengue.
