I mean, there\u2019s virus everywhere around us at this point,\u201d Dr. Marcela Uhart, a wildlife veterinarian with the University of Cal-Davis\u2019 One Health Institute,&nbsp;&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/environment\/story\/2024-11-26\/bird-flu-warnings-are-going-unheeded-at-many-dairy-farms\">told a symposium earlier this month<\/a>. \u201cThis virus is circulating left and right in mammals and in birds, as far as we can tell, some of them are not showing any signs of disease.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Human infections have been reported across seven US states, and the total number has steadily risen over the last couple of months. Now, there are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/bird-flu\/situation-summary\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">55<\/a>\u00a0confirmed cases, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
