According to health officials, seven additional human RVF cases were reported since the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/outbreaknewstoday.com\/rift-valley-fever-in-mauritania-4-more-human-cases-1-death-recorded-94575\/\"><strong>previous update on October 2,<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0bringing the total for 2022 to 39. In addition, five additional RVF fatalities have been reported- the cumulative total now stands at 22.  The most cases were reported in the town of Neha, in southeastern Mauritania (9). Tintane and Atar follow with six cases each. Rift Valley Fever is mosquito-borne virus that is endemic in parts of Africa.
