he Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC<\/a>) revealed it is monitoring for a number of red flags that suggest bird flu could become the world’s next pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first severe human<\/a> bird flu<\/a> case in the United States was reported in Louisiana earlier this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Genetic analysis found the virus had mutated, making it more easily transmissible to humans<\/a>, the CDC said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agency called the mutations “concerning’ and “a reminder that A(H5N1) viruses can develop changes during the clinical course of a human infection.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
